HAVING FUN...LEARNING IN POCATELLO

THANK YOU, TAMMY BAILEY, A BEQUEST SOCIETY MEMBER

Tammy Bailey of Salmon received her Bequest Society crystal and pin at the Pocatello Mid-Winter Assembly.  Tammy and 73 other Rotarians added a $10,000 bequest in their will or through life insurance to The Rotary Foundation to be given to Rotary upon one's demise.

R. to L.:  Bequest Society Member Tammy Bailey, Million Dollar Dinner coordinator Marianne Barker, DG Terry Gilbert and The Rotary Foundation Rusty Broughton.

WE LEARNED A LOT AND HAD FUN AT THE SAME TIME

Kym Mowery, president of the East Idaho Falls Club, raises rabbit ears over her unsuspecting member, Lynn Bybee.

Ask any teacher and she will tell you that the after-lunch, a sugar high can put an audience to sleep.  Well, in the  Pocatello mid-winter we solved that through a follow-the-leader exercise taking the participants out into the frigid air!  In the picture above, Lynn Bybee encourages her entourage to pretend they are airplanes.  It appears Phil Anderson is thinking seriously about following Lynn, but Randy Seal appears to be headed for a landing.

DO YOU HAVE GRANDCHILDREN?

Rusty Broughton, Foundation chair, and Phil Anderson, assistant governor, share pictures of their grandchildren.  Phil is holding a picture of Rusty's grandchild and she his.

WELCOME BEQUEST SOCIETY MEMBER, DAVID GOTT

To see a list of District 5400 Bequest Society members with many pictures from the Million Dollar Dinner of October 30, 2010, go to the DG's blog and search under presentations for October.

From L. to R.:  Charles Weymouth, president, Terry Gilbert,  David Gott

It was my privilege to attend the Rotary Club of Boise Metro today, Jan. 24, to thank David Gott for his bequest of $10,000 to The Rotary Foundation's Permanent Fund.

It is because of gifts like David's and 73 other Rotarians in District 5400 and thousands worldwide that the Foundation is able to carry out an array of programs such as:  1)  improved living conditions for needy families,  2)  increased food production and water programs,  3)  wide availabilty of immunizatiion and medical treatment for the sick and disabled,  4)  and new channels for the flow of international understanding and brighter hopes for peace.

Thanks David.

WE LEARNED MUCH FROM EACH CLUB AND HAD FUN, TOO, AS THE PICTURE OF CHARLES AND TJ ILLUSTRATES

I almost didn't display this picture because Charles Weymouth
looked so unhappy when TJ Adams, presidents of RC of Emmett, hugged him.

John Biggs, Communication/PR chair, poses for the camera.  In the back is Jan Welch, Dave Hanseon, Hal Rumsey, Terry Jones, Stephanie Hanchett and Marilyn Bickle.

I am using a picture of Ken Howell, chair of the Annual Programs Fund, from the Jan. 8 mid-winter assembly.  The pictures I took on Jan. 15 were not clear.  If you can't tell, Ken is a Yote (College of Idaho graduate).
