CHRISTMAS WITH THE WESTERN TREASURE VALLEY CLUBS MEANS MIND GAMES!!
The picture above shows many Rotarians holding the present(s) they received at the WTV annual Christmas party. Below, I try to explain the work it takes to actually receive a gift.
Mind games? Yes, for instance, below is Henry Lawrence, soon-to-be-member of the club, holding a jar of Adams peanut butter. The goal is for the audience to guess for whom the present was purchased. Some aspect of the present must represent the first initial of the recipient's first name and the first initial of the recipient's last name.
In the audience sat Paul Bentz (peanut butter)! Could it be that he is the recipient? Or perhaps Henry purchased a gift that represents amazing concoction and the recipient is Amber Campell. Or perhaps Henry meant it to represent survival eating for Stu Edwards.
Nope...it was for peanut-butter Paul Bentz.
STU EDWARDS IS THE MIND-GAME MASTER??!!
See Stu pointing to a poster held by Paul. Stu created four clues for the first name on one side and four clues for the last on the other side. All clues are impossible, of course, because Stu is a sadist. After the audience had wilted under Stu's questions, he displayed an alarm clock. Of course, Stu referred to it as a temporal gadget, and I was the proud recipient of Stu's largess. Torie Gomez could have received the gift as well as I. Thanks Stu.
And here is Torie, a clever young lady who could take any present offered and devise a reasonable-sounding answer as to whom it belonged.
ROGER ALLEN RECEIVED A SPECIAL GIFT
Roger is the club quiz master. His special gift at the party? A question and answer book from Amber Campbell who was accused of purchasing the book and reading it before she gave it to Roger, so she could prepare for Roger's weekly questions. Shocking allegation!!
PAM COMPTON PRESENTED PAUL HARRIS PINS
Here Pam places a Paul Harris pin on the sweater of her husband, Brian. Through Pam's assistance, the club transferred Paul Harris Fellowship points to spouses. Amber Campbell presented a pin to her husband Robert and Jed Myers presented a pin to his wife Robin..
Club president Paul Bentz received his first Paul Harris Fellowship pin that night. Paul is a dynamic young man of keen judgment, as you will see by viewing a picture of his bride LeAnna, pictured below standing by Amber Campell.
